Labyrinthitis
|
Infection of that part of the inner ear responsible for balance, usually caused by a virus spreading up from the Eustachian tube. Symptoms are Dizziness (everything spinning around) and Nausea & Vomiting, usually aggravated by head movements and relieved by lying down somewhere quiet. Since infection is viral, conventional medicine can only offer tranquillisers or drugs to stop the nausea and vomiting. A chronic form of Labyrinthitis does exist and seems to be part of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. A similar syndrome may occur as a result of problems at the top of the neck. See an osteopath or physiotherapist. Typically an attack lasts about 3 weeks, but homeopathic treatment can shorten this.
