Urinating more frequently than usual is quite normal in cold weather, in the first and last trimester of pregnancy, and in moments of anxiety or excitement; frequency of urination also tends to increase in old age. Tea, coffee, alcohol, excessive Vitamin D, and certain drugs, especially diuretics prescribed for high blood pressure and heart disease, also make visits to the toilet more frequent.
The disorders most commonly associated with frequent urination are Diabetes (wanting to pass urine at night, feeling thirsty, losing weight, tiredness, itchy genitals), Irritable Bladder (uncontrollable urgency, involuntary leaking of urine), Prostate Problems (if prostate is enlarged, flow of urine may be weak and difficult to start, with dribbling afterwards), urethral stricture (stream of urine weak and reluctant to start, only small amounts passed - see Penis Problems), and Cystitis (overwhelming urge to urinate, urine passed in trickles which burn or sting, dull pain in lower abdomen). See individual entries for specific homeopathic remedies. If none seems suitable, try the remedies below; however, if frequency continues, see your medical doctor.
