Myocarditis

Inflammation of heart muscle, a rare complication of MumpsDiptheria, toxoplasmosis, and viral respiratory infections; if any of these ailments is accompanied by chest pain and breathlessness, consult your doctor if there is no improvement in 12 hours; medical doctor will probably arrange for hospital admission for observation and prescription of steroids to make heart heal quickly, antibiotics, and rest. Untreated, condition may lead to Heart Failure. If breathing difficulties become acute, or if lips turn bluish, consult your doctor if there is no improvement in 2 hours.

Specific remedy to be given every 15 minutes for up to 6 doses in acute attack

  • Fainting, anxiety, irregular pulse, bluish lips and tongue Lachesis 30c

Specific remedies to be given every 2 hours for up to 6 doses

  • Palpitations made worse by slightest exertion, rapid pulse, shortness of breath, heart feels as if it has stopped, puffiness around ankles Digitalis 30c
  • Swollen ankles which feel as if they are about to burst, especially if legs are allowed to hang down, area over liver feels tender Vipera 30c
