Solar Keratoses
|
Rough red patches on skin which develop as result of prolonged exposure to strong sunlight; most common in people with fair or sensitive skin, and sometimes a precursor of squamous cell carcinoma (cancer of the skin, see Cancer).
If the homeopathic remedies given below do not reduce redness and roughness within 1 month, see your medical doctor.
Specific remedies to be taken every 12 hours for up to 1 month
- A general tendency to feel hot, fair skin which burns easily in sun, a tendency to bleed easily Phosphorus 6c
- Red patches which are dry, flaky and burning hot but rest of body feels cold Arsenicum 6c
If you are fair-skinned and about to take a holiday in the sun, take Sol 30c as a preventive; correct dosage is three times daily for 3 weeks out of 4 while exposed to the sun.
Self-help: The only sensible precaution, if you have fair or sensitive skin, is to stay out of the sun or use high factor sun creams. |
