Viral infection endemic in South and Central America and parts of Africa, and spread by mosquitoes; virus attacks liver, causing symptoms which resemble those of Influenza, and in severe cases Jaundice, Nausea and Vomiting, and Abdominal Pain; person may also become very depressed, confused, or comatose. As with many viral ailments, treatment can only be palliative; one attack confers lifelong immunity.

- Pain in abdomen, retching and vomiting, symptoms made worse by slightest movement Bryonia 30c
- Person exhausted, restless, and chilly, thirsty for sips of water Arsenicum 30c
Immunization: Orthodox immunization lasts for about 10 years, and is compulsory if you are visiting certain countries; injection should be given 10 days before travelling. |
