Vincent`s Disease (Acute Ulcerative Gingivitis)

Bacterial infection and ulceration of gums, often between teeth, caused by advanced Tooth Decay, poor dental hygiene, throat infection, or smoking. May cause metallic taste in month and Bad Breath. In severe cases, antibiotics may be necessary, and perhaps minor surgery to prevent scarred gums from harbouring particles of food.

Specific remedies to be given every 2 hours for up to 10 doses

  • Teeth loose, gums soft and spongy, bad breath Nitric ac. 30c
  • Gums purple, spongy, and swollen, bitter salty taste in mouth Mercurius corr. 30c

Self-help: Use Hypericum solution mouthwash (10 drops of Hypericum mother tincture to 0.25 litre [1/2 pint] boiled cooled water) every 4 hours; improve dental hygiene.
