Food Poisoning

see also Salmonellosis

Usually a reaction to toxins produced by Salmonella or Staphylococcus bacteria - these thrive in food which has not been properly cooked or food which is kept warm; violent reactions to specific foods (to shellfish, for example), to poisonous foods (certain fungi, for example), or to foods contaminated by toxic metals (mercury, for example) are also referred to as food poisoning. In most cases, symptoms resemble those of Gastroenteritis; suitable homeopathic remedies appear under this heading.
