Motion, especially motion while reading or trying focus on something stationary, can upset the balance mechanism of the inner ear; children are especially susceptible. Symptoms are pallor, feeling cold clammy, and Nausea and Vomiting; hot, stuffy enclosed conditions, and the smell of food or tobacco do not help.

Specific remedies to be given ΒΌ -hourly to hourly, depending on severity beginning 1 hour before start journey

  • Person afraid of death and disaster Aconite 30c
  • Person nauseous, giddy, faint, pale, cold sweaty, with 'tight band around head' feeling, finds cigarette smoke especially nauseating Tabacum 30c
  • Person fidgety, but feels better lying down Rhus tox. 30c
  • Sight of food causes nausea and sudden increases in saliva, person feels giddy and worn out, and wants to lie down Cocculus 30c
  • Feeling hungry, hunger satiated by small amounts of food, sudden increase in saliva, giddy feeling made worse by loud noise or by sitting up, pain in back of head and neck Petroleum 30c
  • Fear of sudden downwards motion (hitting an air pocket, for example) when travelling by air Borax 30c
  • Feeling uneasy, with headache at back of head or over one eye, food, tobacco, or coffee make queasiness worse, painful gagging and retching, feeling chilly, constipated Nux 30c
