Phimosis

Foreskin which is too tight to draw back from head of penis; may not be diagnosed until first erection, which causes considerable pain, although condition is usually diagnosed much earlier; showing child, from age of 3 or so onwards, how to draw back foreskin to wash underneath it may help to prevent problem. Condition may require surgical removal of foreskin (circumcision), but in meantime one of the remedies below might help.

Specific remedies to be given 3 times dally for up to 14 days

  • Itching and irritation under foreskin, ejaculation during sleep Mercurius 6c
  • Painful erections, foreskin swollen, with itchy pimples on it Jacaranda 6c

Self-help: If foreskin itches, bathe it and head of penis with Hypericum and Calendula solution (5 drops of mother tincture of each to 0.25 litre [1/2 pint] warm water).
