Insecurity in Children

see also Insecurity, School PhobiaPhobia

Most young children have fears and apprehensions of some kind. They may be afraid of the dark, of baths, of shadows under the bed... They may dread their parents' anger, being told off by teachers, being left with strangers, going to the dentist... Irrational as such fears may seem to adults, they are very real to the child concerned and should not be dismissed lightly or ridiculed. Give as much reassurance as you can. A very timid child may benefit from constitutional treatment.
