Prickly Heat

Acute itchiness most common among fair-skinned people in tropical or sub-tropical climates (dark-skinned people are not affected); due to a combination of damp heat, wearing clothes, being overweight, using soap too often, and a tendency to produce too much sebum. Itchy, prickling sensation is due to inflammation caused by bursting of sweat gland ducts blocked by sebum; if many sweat gland duets are blocked, result may be Heat Stroke. If condition is particularly troublesome, constitutional treatment would be appropriate.

Specific remedy to be taken every 2 hours for up to 10 doses at soon as prickling sensation starts; if necessary, repeat dose daily, but not more frequently

  • Apis 30c

As a preventative

  • Sol 30c 3 times daily during exposure for up to 3 weeks in 4

Self-help: Avoid hot baths and showers, use soap once a day only, and try to acquire a protective tan. Avoid hot drinks, spicy foods, and meat extract. Increase Vitamin C intake. Bathing in bicarbonate solution often brings relief.
