The source of this remedy is calcium sulphide, obtained by heating together the calcareous inner layer of oyster shells with flowers of sulphur. At one time this preparation was used to antidote the effects of the many forms of physic containing mercury.
Constitutional Indications
Hepar sulph. is best suited to individuals who are overweight, flabby, pale, sluggish and rather depressed; such people tend to look as if they have been through a lot, and gratefully sink into the nearest chair.
