Arsenic

This poison in found in shellfish, insecticides and animal feed additives, wallpaper and ceramics. Very large doses can be fatal. It is also found in the ground near tin mines, e.g., in Cornwall, and a degree of tolerance can be built up by eating vegetables grown there.
