Hydramnios
|
An excessive amount of fluid (amniotic fluid) around the baby during later months of pregnancy; more common in mothers who are carrying twins or who have Diabetes or Pre-Eclamptic Toxaemia; may be symptomless or accompanied by increasing breathlessness, indigestion, a dull ache in the abdomen, and swelling of the legs, thighs, and face; sometimes symptoms onset suddenly, with nausea, in which case there is a risk of premature labour. Appropriate action is to consult your doctor if there is no improvement in 2 hours; in the meantime, rest and take one of the remedies below.
Specific remedies to be taken every 15 minutes for up to 6 doses if symptoms onset suddenly
- Fear and apprehension Aconite 30c
- Face hot and flushed Belladonna 30c
Specific remedies to be taken 4 times daily for up to 7 days if symptoms are of more gradual onset
- Increased breathlessness, puffy legs and face Arsenicum 6c
- If symptoms include constipation or frequent urination or vomiting Nux 6c
- Symptoms come on after loss of fluid or blood China 6c
- If none of the above remedies seems appropriate Sulphur 6c
