Belching (Eructation)

Usually caused by swallowing air when nervous or by eating too fast; to relieve discomfort in the stomach, the air is regurgitated as wind. Belching may also be a symptom of Indigestion, especially after rich food, Hiatus Hernia (if bending or lying down makes wind worse), pyloric stenosis, or Gallstones (wind after eating fatty food); wind is also common in babies, and in the later stages of pregnancy, as the uterus presses on the stomach.
Specific remedies to be taken every ½ hour for up to 10 doses
- If belching relieves discomfort Carbo veg 30c
- If belching does not relieve discomfort China 30c
- Craving for sweet things, abdomen distended, diarrhoea, wind made worse by worrying about some future event Argentum nit. 30c
- Person very hungry, feels full after a few mouthfuls of food, produces a lot of wind Lycopodium 30c
- Belching accompanied by nausea, person feels worse in hot rooms Pulsatilla 30c
