Colds in Infants

see also ColdsColds in Children

Quite common in young babies, but not harmful unless they interfere with feeding, or spread to throat, lungs, ears, or brain. Decongestant nose drops (1% saline solution or 0.5% Ephidrine, both obtainable from chemist) can be given just before feeding or sleeping if a stuffy nose is causing problems, but always in strict accordance with instructions on bottle and never for more than a day at a time as they can damage sensitive lining of nose. Homeopathic remedies should always be tried first.

See Colds for suitable homeopathic remedies and self-help measures.
