Dizziness in Elderly

Disorders which most often affect balance in old age are Parkinson's Disease (degeneration of nerve centres responsible for coordinating movement), arteriosclerosis (hardening and narrowing of arteries, especially those which supply brain), Osteoarthritis (especially in hips and knees), and Cervical Spondylosis (bony growths on neck vertebrae which press on spinal cord and blood vessels to head). Treatment of underlying disorder may alleviate balance problem.

- Standing up from sitting or lying position causes dizziness, or dizziness which comes on after an injury, dizziness wears off lying down Arnica 30c
- Dizziness made worse by movement, with nausea Theridion 6c

- Poor circulation due to arteriosclerosis, walking out of doors improves circulation, feeling weak and weary and wanting to lie down Baryta 6c
- Senile dementia and loss of concentration, dizziness worse between 4 and 8 pm Lycopodium 6c
- Poor circulation, dizziness worse in cold weather and when lying on left side Silicea 6c
